　　据英国《每日邮报》4月26日报道，世界上最胖的女子夏里蒂·皮尔斯重达765磅(约合347千克)，为了能够实现在婚礼上与男友“彻夜跳舞”的愿望，她发誓要减到医院愿意给她做减肥手术的体重。此外，要想去唯一愿意给她做胃束带手术的医院，她需要准备5000美元(约合人民币3.13万)。

　　据悉，现年38岁的夏里蒂来自爱荷华州，因患淋巴水肿，其双腿急剧肿胀，最后她还受到食肉菌的侵袭，不得不切除了18千克的肿块。夏里蒂只有减到500磅(227千克)，医院才会给她动手术。举步维艰的她向休斯顿的医院求救。医院方面表示只要她能在4月底前去德克萨斯州，他们就会给她做手术。然而普通汽车根本无法容纳身形巨大的夏里蒂，为此，她只能租一辆私人救护车。而到德克萨斯整整1609千米，费用不是一笔小数目。

　　谈起自己的经历，夏里蒂显得十分伤感。她希望自己能够看着女儿长大成人，希望自己可以走出家门在室外举行婚礼而不是被束缚在家里。“我希望能穿婚纱、牛仔靴，我想整夜跳舞狂欢”。夏里蒂自2002年在电视上首次露面后一直收到善款，如今她也在积极为自己的减肥之路募款，她说：“虽然任重道远，我依旧会勇敢前行”。
